I’ve always thought that I knew the correct music recording techniques (though I know something seems to be missing) until I did actual music recording for the first time. I had no choice but to learn things the difficult way.

I tried to search about music recording techniques on the internet but all I found were complicated concepts and ideas that gave me even more confusion. Nevertheless, I’m still glad that it was never too late for me to learn. I thought I just did not know how to write a song well to begin with, but it turned out that the problem was that I lacked knowledge about correct and effective music recording techniques. Low cost CD duplication allows for music to be distributed easily, but the first step is actually getting the music recorded.

So I’d like to share with you some helpful music recording techniques that will definitely improve the quality of your music:

Make sure to get all the writing and recording done before mixing. This is the golden rule of music recording techniques that you should always bear in mind. You can never mix a piece of recording when the structure of the song itself is not yet finalised. Doing so increases confusion that will only lead to waste of time. It will take you much longer to finish the recording and mixing process if certain things have not been done or finalised yet. This can give you a lot of headaches.

Problems in recording should be addressed immediately during recording- Should you encounter any problem that has something to do with recording or if you felt that there’s something wrong in your track that needs some editing or improvement; do it right away. Again, if you leave things undone and you immediately proceed to the mixing phase, this will create more problems. You may have to record your track all over again if serious problems have been detected too late. Experts on music recording techniques say that recording is a prerequisite of mixing. You should not proceed to step 2 if certain things are left undone in step 1.

Lastly, make sure that you’re well prepared for the mixing process. Prepare all necessary things and equipment before mixing a track. Everything necessary should be within easy rich, so as to save time and energy. This might just seem to be a very simple tip, yet it can be easily overlooked and underestimated. Some people hastily attempt to mix a track, not realising that some equipment they need is unavailable or not within easy reach for some reason. Not knowing these music recording techniques will only lead to serious time wastage.

These music recording techniques might just be simple tips, but it can be greatly helpful; especially for beginners.

CD piracy is the unauthorised duplication and reproduction of data content from a master source to a blank disc. It is a major problem perceived to be the cause of the music industry’s loss of revenue as well as its imminent downfall.

With this dismal picture, something must be done to address this CD piracy problem. But with the difficulty of identifying individuals who commit copyright infringement, it looks like there’s no assurance that this problem can be solved. Anyone can be copyright violators. By just patronising pirated CDs, we too contribute to the degradation of the music industry’s value. As such, optimum protection of digital copyright properties must be encouraged.

Modern technology played a major part in allowing CD piracy to take place in the whole world. Not only are these CD copyright violators using copied CD content for their personal pleasure alone, they are also actually reproducing and gaining profit from these contents. It’s often very tempting to commit this crime not only because of the revenue that can be generated, but also because it’s easy and quick to learn and do. Illegal CD Duplication can easily be performed at home. All you need is a CD burner and hacking skills and you’re all set for CD piracy.

Because of this, maximal digital CD piracy prevention methods should be used to ensure and optimise protection and safety. Though this means spending additional money, it’s definitely worth spending to prevent the most dreaded copyright theft. So if you have created some digital music content, you should by all means make use of every protective measure possible to make sure that it won’t be stolen by other people for profit. This especially holds true if you store your contents in the internet; we all know that the internet has always been and will always be susceptible to attack by hackers and hence is not as safe and secure as you think. This is one of the disadvantages of modern technology; allowing people to steal the work of others from a certain data source.

If your digital music content is intended for free public use, there’s no problem with that. You won’t need any protective measures from CD piracy. However, if your digital property is intended for selling, digital property management and protection is definitely something to be taken into consideration.

Fortunately, there are protective methods that you can use to quickly and conveniently prevent CD piracy.

CD piracy is something that should be considered seriously if nothing is done to offset this problem, the day will surely come when nothing is left for the music industry.

Modern technology has enabled us to do a lot of things that we’ve never before thought possible, including CD duplication. Although these compact discs are duplicated, they are characterized by high quality and reliability.

Recordable CDs facilitate CD duplication. The process involves using an original CD from which data and files are copied accurately in a short span of time.

To proceed with the CD duplication process, you will need a computer, data management software and data writing software. The files that can be copied can either be music or data, and you have the option to choose the speed at which CD files are burned or duplicated. Although it’s much more convenient to perform CD duplication with a high speed, the downside to this is that it’s more likely to commit errors. The CD writer functions like a photocopier and can either be found in the computer or installed as a hardware drive. For burning music files, it would be advisable to connect a separate CD burner to an audio system to make the process faster and easier. The data writer uses a mobile laser which consists of a read and writer function. The writer laser acts upon the empty disc and copies the files into it by altering its surface using a strong light.

CD duplication is referred to as CD burning in layman’s terms. It is defined as the duplication of data from a source such as from a master disc or from the internet to a blank disc. The data copied into the empty disc is exactly the same with that of the master source, yet it can’t be modified or altered. But with CD-RW, you can duplicate data repeatedly as well as erase the data copied into an empty disc after duplication.

An empty/blank disc is made of a reflective material. Below the reflective surface is another layer made of a light-sensitive dye. The dye is translucent before duplication but becomes opaque after being subjected to a heat-emitting light frequency. At this point, the blank disc now has digital data embedded into it from the master source. CD duplication depends on the writing speed, the amount of data to be duplicated, and the connection speed between the PC and data writer.

The speed at which the disc rotates during the duplication process is the same as its rotating speed when in a player. To optimise the accuracy, reliability and quality of CD duplication; you should avoid using inferior quality discs and burning from a network source. You shouldn’t forget to finalise the process and never utilise the packet writing technology for burning.

With the rapid pace at which changes in the marketing and advertising world are introduced; musicians, artists, and songwriters need to develop new ways of promoting their music. With the current state of CD sales in the music industry dwindling fast it’s now very difficult to survive in the music industry, especially for independent recording artists and companies.

Here are some of the ways to cope and improve CD sales

1. Make use of networking sites!

Socialising with people greatly affects your success in the music industry. Establishing connections and interactions with people through networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter is a sure way to make your fan base grow.

2. Utilise Internet Advertising Models

Internet advertising models such as Pay for placement is the modern way to advertise business products and services and so with promoting and building up an artist. It involves placing ads along with relevant terms in search engines. Since the media industry is also fast degrading, there will be fewer writers who will write about you and so you must look for other effective ways to be visible to the public. This is where internet advertising models come into play.

3. Invest in blogging

Considering the fact that the traditional media industry is slowly decreasing in value and popularity, many recording labels turned to using citizen journalism or so-called blogging. Blogging is proven to be more effective in improving CD sales in the music industry.

4. USB Devices

USB devices are now used to propagate music by modern record label companies. Aside from compact discs, albums containing digital music as well as photos and videos can now be sold in the form of USB music sticks. Promotional USBs are an excellent method of distributing music in the information age.

5. Consider SEO measures

You might as well want to consider promoting your albums online by using keywords that are popular and search engine optimised. In this way, you’re able to increase your music’s internet visibility. This is the easiest and most cost-efficient way of upgrading the CD sales in the music industry.

6. Modern recording companies.

Unlike traditional music labels which reserve every right to control the careers of their music artists, modern labels now act more of a helper than an owner of the recording artist. It would therefore be expected that they will help the artist promote his/her music by assisting with advertising, booking of promotional shows and tours, and many other aspects of marketing. And it is the artist who has all the rights to control every aspect of their career, not the label company. Also, many recording artists make effective use of firms offering affordable CD duplication in order to release their own music without the assistance of a label.

7. Give something for free

To catch the attention of consumers, you have to give something for free to generate income from selling other products. For example, you can give out a number of albums for free to promote your concert tickets.

8. Listen to what your fans like

An improvement in music industry sales can be achieved by making customers feel that they are given importance. For example, you can let customers name the price of your album as a way of propagating your music.

9. Do your own thing

You have to think of ways with which you can interact and reach out to your market consumers. It is through this basic way that an artist can truly establish people connection which is perceived to be the strongest force in improving CD sales.

To improve the current state of CD sales in the music industry, you have to do away with traditional advertising methods. It’s time to get into social media marketing.

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of sitting in a waiting room you’ll know how boring this can be. Any distraction is welcome whilst you’re doing nothing; so many waiting rooms are decorated with posters and have a selection of magazines to keep people amused. Flat screen TVs hanging from walls are becoming an increasingly common sight in these environments, and of course this presents an excellent advertising opportunity.

TVs like these are ready to play your promotional material

When there’s a TV to divert your attention from the clock slowly ticking away then other distractions such as magazines and leaflets don’t seem quite as appealing. If you’ve ever been in a pub with TVs fitted to the walls then you may have noticed they’re a lot quieter than pubs without TVs due to people focusing their attention on programs being shown rather than conversing, TVs really do grad peoples’ attention.

So, bearing this in mind, consider the advertising potential of TVs in waiting rooms. A captive audience with nothing to do to pass the time are almost certainly going to pay attention to a TV, so seize this opportunity.

Many advertisers distribute DVDs of looping commercials to places such as waiting rooms, services stations and other environments where TVs are in place for the amusement of bored patrons. These firms can utilise cheap DVD duplication in order to create multiple copies of their promotional material and then distribute the media amongst the relevant organisations.

The power of this form of advertising should not be underestimated, televised promotional material or advertisements are far more engaging than posters or pamphlets, particularly for bored people. Also, with the cost of DVD duplication being so low for large runs then, negating the cost of actually producing the content, this may be a cheaper method of advertising than printed media.

In the first couple of months for firms, what can be a big problem in terms of their marketing strategies and brand promoting? The weather. The weather can become a problem as any sort of outdoor advertising either becomes more expensive or less practical.

Distribute promotional CDs despite the poor weather

The durability of posters and leaflets has to be considered, which can increase the cost of avertising and promotion significantly. Also the effectiveness of outdoor promotions is also less. People are not outside as much, and if they are, they tend to have their shoulders hunched, heads down and are eager simply to get inside as soon as possible. So if businesses still want to promote and spread brand awareness, the way to this is with indoor sources.

One option for this would be via use of CD duplication. With the cost of CD duplication so cheap these days it can seem very appealing for businesses. Not only is the cost of producing these cheap, but the means in which they can be distributed is also very easy. They can either be delivered one by one through the door, either by hand or with very little delivery costs. Or they can be delivered in bulk to offices for people to pick up as they walk in and out each day. They are also compact enough (hence the name compact disc) that people wont hesitate to pick one up. Leaflets and pamphlets are often too large to slip in a jacket pocked or file, but this problem doesn’t exist with CDs.

The CD can be picked up easily, kept out of the rain, and most importantly the content can be viewed and studied in the comfort of an indoor environment.

So you think you’ve got the X-Factor, but can’t stand the thought of going through the humiliation process that is multiple auditions with the Simon Cowell who just sits there waiting to rip you apart. However, you’ve got a dream and want to achieve it. There’s only one way to do it… Do everything yourself. You write your songs, record your music and design your whole appearance.

Use professional packaging to make your CD stand out.

It is important for new up-and-coming artists or musicians to stand out from the pack. Without a prestigious record deal, sponsorship or a strong set of fans shouting about you right to the high heavens you have to do something else in order to make it big. If you want to succeed and live your dream, you have to take risks and gamble once in while. One way musicians can do this is by making a large production order of their CD’s. However how do you sell these without the assets mentioned before?

Well, we have all heard of the phrase of judging a book by it’s cover, we are all warned against this, but there is just something within our nature that makes us fall into this trap time and time again. So when it comes to promotional demo CDs bear in mind that there’s quite a good chance they will be judged by their cover. So when it comes to CD Duplication ensure that the finished result will look professional and striking. With a range of high quality packaging solutions at your disposal this shouldn’t be a problem.

When developing your act, persona and appearance it must be consistent across all areas so that brand recognition can be optimal. Xpresscds allows you to do this with their service of producing CDs, cases and booklets. You want to stand out from the crowd so what better way than to order ample supplies of your music, after all you have to be optimistic and then distribute these into the real world and with a consistent eye caching CD design, your sure not to go wrong.

The New Year is upon us presenting businesses with the ideal opportunity to rethink their strategies, create new aims, or re-launch themselves to potential customers. Often these aims and thoughts are communicated via paper documents and leaflets, something which people may just flick through and not fully engage with.

Replace brochures with promotional CDs contain information and media about your company!

However, what if these aims and aspirations were communicated in a more interactive and appealing media, perhaps through the use of DVDs or CDs. Whether a business is making internal changes or simply trying to interact more with customers and clients, alternating their communication method can help.

Sure leaflets and posters can help communicate a message, but it is very much considered now that the more engaging the material is, the more likely information retention is. Higher information retention is obviously the purpose of any promotional and reminder information which is something CDs and DVDs can achieve through their advantage of being able to include motion and audio.

Appealing to more senses enhances the impact of any communication and is therefore something that businesses should consider if they want their promotional campaigns to be successful. Also utilising CDs or DVDs to distribute promotional information has a significantly lower environmental impact than printing brochures with multiple pages.

With the cost CD duplication starting at just £1+VAT per CD the cost may actually be significantly less than printing those glossy documents that businesses have used in the past. Even if businesses have not previously explored the ideas of promotional content, the low prices and proven effectiveness, show the use of promotional CDs and DVDs should really be considered.

When it comes to distributing data such as music, film or indeed almost any information that can be stored digitally then distributing duplicated CDs is an extremely effective to do this, particularly in situations where physical, hard copies are a necessity.

Low cost CD Duplication

In today’s world of digital downloads and shared online information there are some people who consider physical copies of data to be redundant, but there are plenty of situations where they’re necessary.

If you find yourself in need to numerous hard copies of some information such as digital photographs or music then the CD duplication services are the most cost effective way of obtaining these copies. If you are operating on a tight budget then having your data burned onto, plain CDs with simple print and minimal packaging is by far the most cost effective option available to you. A spindle of duplicated CDs with a simple, black title printed across their surface can be purchased very cheaply. If you were looking to produce CDs for even less money then the labeling could be excluded, leaving you with a spindle of plain CDs containing your information.

Of course, this really is the budget options and if you’re not so concerned about saving money there are numerous packaging options available, many of which will leave you with a finished product of a professional standard, comparable to a CD or DVD you’d buy from a high street shop. Of course, if it is as many CDs as you can get for you money with a rapid turn around time you’re after than opt for the minimal amount of packaging and optional extras. You’ll be surprised at just how cheap your CDs will be!

A musician from Lancashire is delighted that her privately produced CD is due to get an airing on national radio station Classic FM. We’re always delighted to hear success stories of independent CD releases.

Soprano Helena Kean recorded her album, A Garland to Christmas, in a local studio in just two days; then spent a few months getting the production just right before the CD went to press. While Helena has gained a following with her live performances she understandably hopes that a radio play will justify all of her hard work in the studio and bring her music to a wider audience.

The CD features 16 tracks of Christmas-themed poetry set to music by classical British composers, played by pianist, Graham Jackson. Helena has recorded and produced several CDs in recent years, but this is her first Christmas album. Having sent a copy of the disc to Classic FM DJ, David Mellor, Helena was thrilled to receive feedback from the station, whose team were impressed that such a high quality recording could be produced independently of a mainstream music publisher.

Helena Kean’s success with her independent recordings is a testament to the potential of CD duplication. Her CDs are available directly from her website www.music-and-images.co.uk, connecting the artist directly with the listeners. Helena is not contractually obliged to produce a certain volume or style of recordings and can market them as she chooses. The photography and artwork for the CDs is produced by her Mother, a highly successful professional photographer and lecturer and several of the albums comprise a complementary selection of music and images. Why sign yourself away to a big corporation when you can reach the masses direct?
